Meet Aziz

I am queer, trans, Arab-American (SWANA) and mixed race. I carry with me the legacy of past and present settler colonialism alongside rich cultural lineage and resistance. I see our connections to land, ancestors and community as integral parts of healing from trauma and repairing attachment wounds. I reside on unceded Dakota and Anishinaabe land, so-called Minneapolis, MN.

My work with clients involves working somatically and relationally with individuals, partners and groups who have experienced some combination of developmental or relational trauma, intergenerational trauma, shock trauma and systemic violence and oppression. This work always centers the relationship and honors the speed at which trust and resource is truly built. Ritual is at the heart of my work and is an integral  part of how I hold the therapy container.

I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), certified Somatic Experiencing™ Practitioner (SEP) and have completed additional somatics training related to developmental and complex trauma as well as trauma oriented somatic touch.  I use SE alongside other healing modalities and liberation-based frameworks. I enjoy working with folks who are queer, trans, SWANA, racially mixed, BIPOC, living in diaspora, neuroexpansive as well as folks practicing non-monogamy and kink in their relationships.

I hold immense gratitude  to elders, colleagues and peers in my community who have been willing to collaborate with me and support my personal healing, professional growth as well as my capacity to offer healing work in a way that is aligned with community values.
